Understanding Styles

The biggest improvement of Insight Tree in comparison with its predecessors is the handling of styles.

Style import and export

The "File" menu gives two options to flexibly handle style sheet files:

"Import styles..." allows to import styles from Insight Tree files (*.itr) and style sheet files (*.itrs) to use them in your current tree.
Styles from *.itrs files are immediately added to the styles menu list.
"Export style..." allows to save your current style as a style sheet (*.itrs) file for re-use in other Insight Tree installations.

Insight Tree comes with a selection of basic styles which you can immediately use in your decision trees. Further styles can be taken from the "Download" page at www.visionarytools.com.

Note: You can assign style sheets with a name, a brief text description, and information related to the author when you save them in this dialog.

Local style handling

Another option to re-use styles developed is the "Save current style.." function in the "Styles" menu. You can save your self-created styles there also with a name, description and an author assignment and will then find them later again in the menu list above.

This dialog also allows deletion of styles which you will not reuse again.
